Well that didn’t work out all that well!!! Cops were called in Southern California on the Fourth of July about a “very intoxicated” boat operator. Seems the dude in question was 31-year-old Robert Callahan, and he’d been drinking all day and cruising around in his friend’s speedboat. The cops managed to track him down on the lake. Then, when they tried to give him a sobriety test, he threw off his life jacket, dove into the water and began to swim away. However, that didn’t last all that long because after about 50 yards before he had to yell back for them to come to pick him up. His blood-alcohol level was 0.29, or about three-and-a-half times the legal limit for driving or boating. They arrested him for operating under the influence and his friend who owns the boat also got arrested for public intoxication.
