Waterloo Council Prepares for Decision on CDBG & HOME Funds
Money to be Used for Run-Down Areas and Low-Income Residents

How to spend $1 ½-million in federal funds to improve run-down neighborhoods and help low-income residents will be the subject of a public hearing at tonight’s(Mon) Waterloo City Council meeting.

The council has already received recommendations from the city’s Community Development Board and is now looking for input from the public at-large.

In other business tonight(Mon), council members will be asked to approve a $7.1-million contract with local asphalt company Aspro, for the annual street reconstruction program. The city also received a $7.6-million bid from the Croell Company of New Hampton to do the work using concrete.

Tonight’s(Mon) regular meeting begins at 5:30, but the Waterloo council will hold a work session at 4:25 to discuss the state franchise with Mediacom.
