Here’s to Beer: Weekly Beer Blog Pt. 3

Today, I’m focusing on an Iowa beer. It’s brewed in Davenport and even the added “brew” comes from there! Red Band Coffee is made and roasted in Davenport. Great tasting coffee! Bent River Brewery is also there and they have several beers to try. I like them a lot. Combine these two and you get: Redband Stout!

I love this beer! I love coffee! I had one by suggestion years ago and fell in love with it then. I also had no hopes or ideas about it as I had never heard of it, at that point. To go in having preconceived notions about a beer, really sells a beer short. I love the roasted, charred, hoppiness, but the nose isn't really there. To me, that's fine, as long as it delivers in taste on the tongue and back end. For me, this did that. Creamy coffee, bitter with dark or baker's chocolate notes make this a beautiful libation.

The commercial description is this: Cold pressed Redband Coffee Company espresso beans infused into our milk stout. A big stout where a dark rich chocolate milk meets premium cold pressed coffee.

What’s NOT to love??

I was born in De Witt, IA. My parents are big music fans and musicians, themselves. I’ve been listening to music as long as I can remember. Dad is also a collector, as I am. We love vinyl! It’s THE best way to really enjoy listening to music. We both have lots of records. I also collect CDs, reels, cassettes, 78s, etc. If it has music on it, I want it!
