Eddie Murphy – Party All The Time

Rick James was the main genius behind this bug hit. Written and produced as well as recorded by James in his Buffalo, New York studio, Eddie  Murphy was riding high on his popularity from SNL and his legendary HBO special, Eddie Murphy – Delirious and the success of the movies 48 Hrs and Trading Places. Why not give him a hit song!

Following the mild success of “Boogie In Your Butt” with the Dr. Demento crowd, Rick James crafted a perfect song for Murphy. It made it to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 3 weeks behind Lionel Richie’s “Say You, Say Me”.
