Today’s Forgotten 45 @ 45!

Billy Idol – To Be A Lover

Celebrating Billy Idol becoming a U.S. citizen today, we’ll go back to 1986 and his ‘Whiplash Smile” album! This is the lead single released from the album and peaked at #6 on the Hot 100. It was originally called, “I Forgot To Be A Lover” and recorded by William Bell in 1968. That one only made it #45 on the Hot 100, but #10 on the Billboard Hot Rhythm and Blues Singles.
