KISS – Rocket Ride

The second to last track on the double album, ‘ALIVE II’ became a Top 40 hit for the band. They had no idea it would be a hit, nor did they plan for it do anything. In fact, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley aren’t even on the recording!

When ‘ALIVE II’ was set to be released, 4 new songs recorded in the studio were added to round out the release. Ace Frehley orignally had this song ready for a solo album, but included it here, with him playing guitar, bass and vocals, while Peter Criss handled the drums.

“Rocket Ride” has one of the coolest guitar riffs of all of KISS’ music and ended up on the Top 40, peaking at #39 on the Hot 100!

You will hear it again, tomorrow (Saturday 4/18/2020) within the first few minutes of Casey Kasem’s AT40 – the 70s, beginning at 9am!
