DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince – Parents Just Don’t Understand
In my opinion, one of the best videos ever, because of the natural acting ability from Will Smith. It was this that someone saw and had the idea to cast him in his own show.
Released in February of 1988, and the second single from ‘He’s The DJ, I’m The Rapper’, “Parent Just Don’t Understand” was a HUGE success do the storytelling nature of the rap and the funny stories that were told.
I remember hearing and laughing and then seeing the video and laughing all over again!
The song peaked at #12 on the Hot 100 and won them the Grammy for Best Rap Performance at the 1989 Grammy Awards.
