When one thinks of 90s grunge and alternative music, one NEVER thinks Mariah Carey… Not even by mistake! Turns out, she was working on her very popular hit album, ‘Daydream’, and after the sessions, she went and worked with some other women who were musician of the alternative type sound that was gaining popularity at the same time.
Mariah mentions that she “wanted to break free, let loose, and express my misery”, meaning she was becoming tired of the precision and calculated moves she was always making in her career. She wanted to experiment, have fun, do something dangerous. Fortunately or unfortunately, the album never saw the light of day. Hear a snippet of what was recorded below.
*It’s not Mariah on lead vocals. It IS her writing and lyrics, which definitely shows she has a darker edge in her.*
Fun fact 2: now that you've listened to Clarissa's kick-ass lead vocals, I can tell you that I'm on a quest to unearth the version of this album with my lead vocals and will not stop until we find it! So happy that we get to experience this together lol! 🐏❤️🎸 https://t.co/EMukSDgWPu
