Foghat – I Just Want To Make Love To You (Live)

Originally a Willie Dixon song, first recorded by bluesman, Muddy Waters in 1954, the song made it to #4 on the R&B charts.

Etta James then recorded a version of it for her first album, ‘At Last!’ and was the B-side to her iconic title track!

Then, in 1972, Foghat recorded it in studio, to be the lead off track of their extremely popular eponymous debut. It became their first hit, making to the Hot 100 and peaking at #83. But, fast forward to 1977, when the band records and releases ‘Foghat LIVE!’, and the live version of the song was edited from it’s original 8 min. LP version, to a 3:56 radio edit that made it to the Top 40, stalling at #33!
