The Artist (Formerly Known As Prince) – The Most beautiful Girl In The World

Just after Prince changed his name to an unpronounceable sign, Logo. Hollow circle above downward arrow crossed with a curlicued horn-shaped symbol and then a short bar, he went on an incredible wave of creativity that spawned hits like “7”, “The Morning Papers” and ironically, “My Name Is Prince”…

However, as he was working on getting out of his multimillion dollar contract with Warner Bros., he was to release several new albums to fulfill his contract. So, he started releasing songs from his vault, put together to form albums that he could release quickly to get out of that contract.

However, one of the songs he had JUST recorded “The Most Beautiful Girl In The World” to be released as a single, then on an E.P. with that songs and several remixes of it. That was called “The Beautiful Experience” and has become a collectors item.

One of the releases to help fulfill his obligations to Warner Bros. was ‘The Gold Experience’. An album that was put together a bit like a concept album, with digital and computer technology interspersed with the very funky and R&B style songs, as well as some great pop tunes. Sadly, it didn’t sell as well as previous album, even though many critics and magazines hailed it as one of his best releases, comparing it to ‘Sign O’ The Times’.

“The Most Beautiful Girl In The World” was written with his girlfriend, Mayte, in mind who would soon become his wife and went to #3 on the Hot 100 in the U.S., but topped the U.K. Singles chart, making it the only song of his that peaked there.
