With the popularity of The Simpsons, someone thought the family and other characters should record and album. So, they did in 1990.
‘The Simpsons Sing The Blues’ was released on Geffen Records and didn’t get a lot of airplay here in the U.S., but MTV played the video for “Do The Bartman” and it went to #1 It was also nominated for Best Special Effects at the 1991 MTV Video Music Awards.! That made some radio stations start airing it and helping it make the charts, peaking at #24 on the U.S. Radio Singles chart. In the U.K., it was massive! It topped the U.K. Singles chart, and stayed there for three weeks! COWABUNGA!
